Champions, step forward

The time of the year, when playing field is level and hopes are high. Who will lift the next UEFA Champions League trophy in Istanbul, Turkey on June 10th! Will it be the defending champions Real Madrid 🥶 or will Liverpool have their revenge at the same place where they created the “Miracle” of all sports 🥵 in 2005. Let’s see what this year’s draws look like 😎

Liverpool draws Ajax(NED), Napoli(ITA) and Rangers(SCO) in Group A while Man City will face Sevilla(ESP), Dortmund(GER) and Copenhagen(DEN) in Group G. Things look challenging for Chelsea as they prepare to face Italian champs A.C. Milan (7 times winners of this competition), RB Salzburg(GER) and Dinamo Zagreb(CRO). Tottenham has quite a chance with Frankfurt(GER), Marseille(FRA) and Sporting Lisbon(POR) which could be superstar Cristiano Ronaldo’s next (his first and could be his last) destination.

The Group of Death (nickname for a very competitive group) is arguably the one with Bayern, Barcelona, Inter Milan and Plzen 😱 while Group H also sees PSG, Benfica and Juventus lined up alongside each other.

Speaking of highest level of competition, the Premier League saw some astonishing score lines last weekend. Leeds United thumped Chelsea 3-0 while Newcastle became the first club to take points away from Man City in a back and forth 3-3 draw. The biggest blockbuster game in football, Manchester United vs Liverpool went the Red Devil’s way as United beat Liverpool 2-1 thanks to goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford. Things looking bright now for their new manager Erick Ten Hag while Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool needs his team to wake up very soon. This was Liverpool’s first loss in the Premier League in 2022 😤

Nothing can be taken for granted in the world’s most competitive league as this week we have league leaders Arsenal, yes you heard it right 😜, face Fulham while Man City hosts a fierce Crystal Palace side led by ex-Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira. Liverpool look to remedy their poor run of games as they face Bournemouth at Anfield while Man United would want to keep their train rolling at the south coast, when they visit Southampton. Spurs play Nottingham Forest who secured their first win in the English top-flight since 1999, when they beat West Ham 1-0 in GameWeek-2

Elsewhere, Bayern Munich are at the top of the German Bundesliga having scored 15 goals in just three games 😰 while Real Madrid have 2 wins in 2 to begin their Spanish La Liga campaign well. Messi, Mbappe, Neymar and Co have made a perfect start winning 3 in 3 and scoring a phenomenal 17 goals in the French Ligue 1.

With the likes of Brighton, Leeds, Newcastle and Fulham popping up with great performances, the Premier League looks tougher than ever. Who will be come out on top after this round of fixtures, stay tuned to check it out 😇
