What does the Fox say ?

This futuristic song 🦊, by the comedy duo Ylvis in 2013, was all that Leicester City needed to secure their first Premier League and F.A. Cup titles in a span of five seasons !😜 The final against Chelsea, whom they meet again on Tuesday in the Premier League, was a cagy affair. It took a wonder strike from Youri Tielemans to give Leicester the lead while VAR played its role to chalk off the late equalizer by the former Fox, Ben Chilwell, by millimeters! There was some controversy regarding the ball touching Ayoze Perez’s arm before the Leicester goal, but in the end, the Foxes won their first ever F.A. Cup by 1-0. This is also Brendan Rodgers’ first trophy in the English top flight šŸ‘

Manchester City received their guard of honor by Newcastle United this week but game was full of back and forth action as Ferran Torres scored a hat-trick to give the Cityzens a 4-3 win. The battle of “Red Bloods” went to Liverpool when the game was rescheduled after the protests at Old Trafford last week and the Manchester United players had to rest in sleeping pods placed in the corporate suits at the ground, six hours before kick-off ! The game itself was exciting with United jumping to an early lead with Bruno while Liverpool came back strong with Jota and brace from Bobby Firmino ( and some peaches by Trent AA šŸ‘Œ) to make it 3-1. An inspiring Mason Greenwood helped pick up the tempo for United and make it 3-2 before a goal line save from Nat Phillips kept Liverpool just in the lead. The result was iced when Mo Salah scored his 21st goal of the campaign, running from the half line and applying a cool finish past Dean Henderson to make it 4-2. First win for Jurgen Klopp at Old Trafford!

The action continued in the weekend as Brighton held West Ham United 1-1 while Tottenham won 2-0 against Wolves with Harry Kane scoring his 22nd goal of the season. Spurs now leapfrog above West Ham in sixth on goal difference. Alisson, the Liverpool goalkeeper, scored a first ever goal by a goalkeeper in the club’s history in the 95th minute against a solid West Bromwich Albion to give Liverpool a 2-1 win at the Hawthorns. His honest and emotional post-match interview is a must watch after an incredibly difficult year for him, personally. The creek to the Champions League spots is widening and Liverpool may crash the top-4 party if they manage to win the remaining two games !

The penultimate games kicking off at the same time in La Liga and Ligue 1 provided a lot of excitement. The La Liga leaders Atletico Madrid found themselves trailing to Osasuna only to score two goals in the last ten minutes to win the game 2-1. Real Madrid continued to maintain pressure on their cross-town rivals by winning 1-0 against Athletic Bilbao while Barcelona fell off the contention with 1-2 home loss to Celta Vigo. Messi’s final game at Camp Nou ? šŸ¤” The drama continues until the final day as Lille draw 0-0 with St. Etienne while PSG won 4-0 against 10-men Reims. Lille now hold a narrow one point lead over PSG with a single game to go. PSG also face AS Monaco in the Coupe de France finals and can very much end this season with a domestic double.

Napoli beat Fiorentina 2-0 to stay in the top-4 of the Serie A while Juventus edged pass Inter Milan with a 3-2 win. Juventus still remains outside the top-4 with just one game left in the season. Will the GOAT (or at least one half of it 🐐) play in the Europa League next season ? In Germany, Borussia Dortmund thrashed RB Leipzig 4-1 to win the DFB Pokal with Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland both scoring braces!

Who will finish in top -4 ? Who will win La Liga and Ligue 1 ? Who will make it in the 26 men squad for their national teams in the Euros? Stay tuned to know more šŸ˜‰
